This is a self-paced professional development program designed for learners with experience in residential construction, renovation, or energy efficiency. You’ll need approximately 24–36 hours to complete the course, including review of content, downloadable resources, quizzes, and a 100-question final test.
The course follows a five-module structure and supports an envelope-first, whole house approach that prioritizes durability, comfort, energy efficiency, and future-proofing. You’ll choose one of three learning streams—Conventional Wood Framed Housing, Special Cases, or Northern Housing—to focus your deep dive.
This course is part of a training pathway recognized by the Home Performance Contractor Network (HPCN) pilot programs for General Retrofit Contractors. Funded in part by the Government of Canada and the Province of British Columbia through the Sector Labour Market Partnerships (SLMP) program.
