A training program is only as good as the results it gets you. You need to track the results to know the value. What are the right questions to ask?

Is the right training getting to the right people? Technical sales people have different needs than on-site crews. Crew chiefs have a different perspective than helpers. That’s where Blue House Energy’s modular course system comes into play — training plans can be tailored to the needs of your team.

When you’ve got your training plan dialed in — how do you know if it’s effective?

There could be underlying issues that may be blocking good performance that you can’t uncover without feedback. For example, some issues we’ve come across include lack of crew chief support, availability of tools, or lack of time for training and access to workstations.

Plan-Monitor-Review (Rinse and Repeat)

That’s what Performance Management is all about. It helps you plan, set, and communicate clear expectations for your whole team, because management is able to:

  • Communicate with individuals regularly and positively

  • Diagnose the causes of performance problems (instead of jumping to conclusions about what’s happening)

  • Reinforce good behaviour

  • Create a team that wants to improve and succeed

When you end up with improved staff and crew performance, you have fewer call-backs, all contributing to:

  • Increased crew retention

  • Increase repeat business and revenue growth

  • Best possible ROI from training investment

Blue House Energy’s performance management program can be tailored to your organization’s needs.

What Blue House Energy’s Performance Management Process does:

  • Makes sure that learning is being applied on the job site

  • Provides quick feedback to management about human resource and management issues

  • Identifies need for additional training and mentoring for both on-site crews and office/sales staff

How the BHE Performance Management Process works:

First, there’s an online introductory webinar in Performance Management with a Q&A session on what performance management is all about, as well as developing and implementing competencies and training plans within your organization.

We provide our customized standard competency frameworks to your sector of the home construction and renovation industry and help you identify competency gaps.

We work with top level management to develop a master training plan that houses specific plans for different roles.

After the training plans are in place, your managers send our periodic automated performance surveys to team members. Using BHE templates, managers analyze and submit the survey results to upper management.

BHE also provides tools and analysis for onsite, spot check performance assessments to make sure training is being applied on the job.

Make sure that training is having the impact you expect. Contact us today to book a free consultation!
